Additional Call for a Special Session about “Security and shared autonomy between Man and Machine in off-road applications”

The use of machine in off-road applications is often hazardous, pending on the uncertainty of environments and behavior of humans (driver or people around the machine). Automated embedded devices may improve safety or security of operators and machines, but the complexity of some tasks may not be always addressed relevantly by algorithms and associated technological systems. For instance, the use of robots cannot be generalized without taking into account users roles and letting them capability to take the manual control. Moreover, autonomous machine may be subjected to failure and or inability to face unexpected situations. As a result, it is necessarily to handle the supervision of automated process enabling safe behavior machines in their control and guidance.

This proposed additional Special Session will aim at showing some new developments in the field for example of active driver assistance for safety and security purposes, of algorithms for process supervision allowing the human management in the loop.

You are kindly invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations following the instructions provided below.

All abstracts should be submitted by July 29th as online submissions

Please read the following guidelines and checklist carefully before submitting your abstract. All abstracts received in time will be reviewed by the scientific committee. Some abstracts will be selected for oral presentations and others will be selected for poster presentations. Posters will be shown at the conference during scheduled and manned poster sessions. All accepted abstracts will be published on a support which will be distributed to all conference participants on site. Notification will be given latest on August  1st, 2016.

Authors presenting abstracts MUST be registered for the conference

  • September 1st: Full paper ready for print
  • October 4th: All full papers and posters will be published in printed conference proceedings
